Role Definition

The right candidate will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions into our inhouse accounting system for a wide range of business lines, including but not limited to, Political Violence and Terrorism, Marine War, Marine K&R and Accident and Health. 

Responsibilities 

❖   Responsible for ensuring the API queue is monitored and actioned
❖    Responsible for the accurate preparation and sense check of both Bound Risk and Paid Premium Bdx. (inc.Cyber Scout)
❖    Attend regular IBA meetings to keep on top of un-allocated cash and outstanding premium. Providing updates and escalating to         IBA, Underwriters etc. as and when required
❖    Delving into and resolving historical and current accounts queries
❖    Working with the Binder Manger and Underwriting Teams to ensure new and renewal binders are set up correctly
❖    Become proficient and taking the lead in the knowledge of underwriting systems and internal processes and procedures. This               includes working on and testing new systems/processes as and when applicable
❖    Providing cover/assistance to Underwriters and Assistant Underwriters whilst they are on holiday/travelling
❖    Producing reports as directed
❖    Build good working relationships with the Underwriting Teams and ensure that the UMT are regularly communicating with them             and kept updated on appropriate issues
❖    Work with the Underwriting Support Manager and the Binder Manager providing assistance with ad-hoc duties as and when                 required

Skills and Ability

❖    At least 2 years’ experience in a processing role within the Insurance Industry (ideally in one of the areas mentioned above)
❖    Accurate with good attention to detail
❖    Confident working under your own initiative
❖    Ability to understand London Market Slips
❖    Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook
❖    A basic understanding of PPL is preferred
❖    A basic understanding of Xchanging
❖    Coverholder experience is preferred
